Calendar - District Event - Saturday, September 19, 2009

We are making plans for the September 19^th District Leadership Council Meeting and it is a family event  – A Dinner Cruise in historic Hannibal aboard the Mark Twain Riverboat.

We will be journeying to Hannibal for the September DLC meeting.  The plans are for the meeting to take place in the afternoon from 2-5:30 PM, and activities will be planned and/or a list of activities/sites will be posted for family members so while we are meeting, everyone else will have the opportunity to enjoy historic Hannibal.  We possibly will have our meeting on the boat and then everyone will join us around 6 PM for the family dinner cruise.

The dinner cruise is a two hour cruise with a one-time-go-through buffet, live entertainment, dancing and beverages. On the dinner cruise you will be escorted to your table, then you are free to roam the boat until the Captain announces that dinner is ready and you are asked to return to your table where the cruise director will direct you to the buffet table.

After dinner you are free to roam the boat, dance and/or sit back and enjoy the entertainment. Weeknights we have LA Suess, who plays a banjo and harmonica and plays showboat era music, dixieland and a little bit of gospel. On Saturday and Sunday with have a four piece Jazz & Blues band, Ben Bumbry and the Messengers. We begin boarding at 6:00 pm, depart at 6:30 pm and return at 8:30 pm. The dress is casual.  Following the cruise, either return home that night or spend the night and we are working on a discount rate at a hotel/motel.

Cost for the cruise will be adults $33.95 (the district will pay $15/per DLC member) and children (5-12) $21.95.  Working very hard to make our DLC meetings interesting, fun and providing an opportunity to get to know everyone and their families.  Since this date has been posted as our meeting date from the beginning, only change is location and the cruise.

So, I need feedback please within the next 2-3 days and will need headcount by the 17^th.
