Retina Surgery Equipment - Vizag, India

 This matching grant project was organized to fund the purchase of a "green" laser and other pieces of equipment for the Rotary Netra Eye Hospital in Saripalli via Pendurthy. This new equipment would allow for excellent treatment of patients losing their eyesight due to diabetic retinopathy and other condition.

This eye hospital is already providing free surgeries to thousands of patients each year, removing cataracts and placing new lenses.

The host sponsor club on this US $50,000 project was the Rotary Club of Vizag Midtown, Andhra Pradesh, India, District 3020. The international partner club was the Rotary Club of Florissant, Missouri, USA D6060. Other funding partners included District 3020-India, Blindness Prevention Donor Advised Fund, D6060-eastern Missouri, D6110-Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas,  D6510-southern Illinois, and The Rotary Foundation.
