Cataract Surgery Project

This project will fund approximately 2,500 cataract surgeries undertaken at various eye hospitals in teh Bangalore, India region. 

This project was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bangalore Koramangala, Karnataka, India and the Rotary Club of Ballwin/Metro West, Missouri, with additional funds coming from the Rotary Club of Ferney-Voltaire, France, D1710; RC Senhora da Hora, Portugal, D1970; RC of Trofa, Portugal, D1970; District 1120-United Kingdom; District 1970-Portugal; District 3190-India; District 6060-Missouri, USA; District 6540-Indiana, USA; Blindness Prevention Donor Advised Fund and The Rotary Foundation.
This is a $53,512 project.

The project was approved in August 2009. Project funds arrived in April 2010 and work began immediately.

By early May 2010, over 200 surgeries have been done. 

Lots of people turned out for the cataract screening.

Dozens of women have received free cataract surgeries.

Lots of men have also had cataract surgeries.
