More about the Matching Grant program

2016-17 International Projects

Rwanda School Improvement Project

The Matching Grant Program (1965-2010) and the new Global Grant program match contributions raised by Rotary clubs and districts for large international service projects involving Rotary clubs in two or more countries. Many clubs doubled the effectiveness of their efforts with these one-time grants of up to US$150,000. Our district has sponsored close to 200 grants since 2001. Details about many of them can be linked to from the index above.

2017-18 International Matching Grants

The District Governor has announced matching funds for 2017-18 club-initiated International Projects.  Clubs wanting to participate in short-term international projects may apply for matching funds from the District 6060 Foundation Committee.  Deadline for applications is September 10, 2017.

Matching funds of up to $2000 per project are available.  District funds may be able to match only five projects due to limited funds.  Apply soon.  Applications will be considered in the order they are received.

Sponsor club:  The local District 6060 Rotary club is the sponsor club.  The sponsoring club must meet Grant Eligibility requirements.  The Club President and the grant writer must have completed Grant Training and signed the Grants Management Memorandum of Understanding.

Host club The host club is the international Rotary club where the project will take place.  The host club will assist in oversight and stewardship in accomplishing the project.  The host club must be in good standing with Rotary International.

Memorandum of Understanding: Both the Sponsor Club and Host Club sign an MOU stating their respective roles and responsibilities in completing the project.  The signed MOU is submitted with the application.

The matching funds only match your club funds; we do not match donations from other organizations.

The project must be short-term in nature; the completed report is due within 60 days of project completion and no later than 12 months from the date of disbursement of funds.

The project must meet all requirements of The Rotary Foundation.  See Terms and Conditions for Rotary Foundation District Grant International Projects (D6060).

Applications will be reviewed by the District 6060 Foundation Committee.  Final approval will be granted by The Rotary Foundation.

Recipients of matching grants for international projects will be announced at District Conference on October 7.  Projects cannot be started until after funds are received.
